Private Apartment | Monaco

Renovation of a studio flat situated in the very centre of Monaco, incorporating a thoughtful approach to the new layout of the spaces and their openings. From a raw, compartmentalised space to a fluid and light-filled interior, every element has been designed to structure the spaces without constraining them. The interplay of light, natural materials, bespoke furniture and minimalist lines combine to create a soft, warm atmosphere that is a pleasure to live in. The whole project was conceived to maximise space and storage, particularly through the joinery, which was designed and crafted to measure by the studio.

This fitted furniture has been entirely custom-designed and made to measure for the space, to strike the right balance between sleeping space and storage capacity. The fold-away bed allows the room to be transformed according to its use: once folded away, the space becomes an office or a dining area, without compromising on space. Thoughtfully designed down to the smallest detail, the sliding door disappears completely into the joinery when opened, creating a natural continuity between the two spaces and reinforcing the connection between them.

The doors blend discreetly into the apartment’s architecture, creating a sense of visual clarity within the studio and ensuring the space does not feel cluttered. Only the handles stand out, revealing just the essentials. An approach in which the layout and materials come together to create a fluid and understated composition.

Continuous render finishes, wood and mineral textures interact harmoniously within a carefully curated colour scheme, lending depth, elegance and balance to the overall design.

Abaca fibres, embroidered parchment, natural oak, ivory-lacquered wood, glazed lava and travertine plaster make up the space. The entrance hall and kitchen follow the same principle of continuity and minimalist elegance. An approach in which every detail contributes to the balance of the space.
